Parent–Child Inner Ecology Experience Program

Bilingual (Chinese–English) instruction, emotional awareness, mindfulness practice, wisdom stories, music and movement, hands-on games, and parent–child yoga.

We warmly invite families with children ages 4–13 to join us at Dharma Drum Mountain for meaningful and joyful parent–child time. The program includes both parent–child joint learning sessions and separate learning sessions. During the joint sessions, parents are encouraged to slow down, be fully present with their children, and gently attend to their children’s feelings. Through this process, we hope to bring hearts closer together and inspire more flexible, creative, and compassionate ways of relating, while exploring and responding to the emotional challenges that arise as children grow.

During the separate learning sessions, children will be guided to recognize and understand their everyday emotions through Buddhist stories, games, music, drawing, and creative activities. At the same time, parents will participate in guided conversations with a Venerable from Dharma Drum Mountain, creating space to listen inwardly, reflect on their own experiences, and share thoughts and feelings with the teacher and other parents.

Parents are welcome to bring their children back to the center once a month to learn, through joyful and engaging activities, how to care for their inner ecology and experience different dimensions of the parent–child relationship—supporting children’s healthy and happy growth. If a parent (or elder family member) is unable to attend on a given day, trained volunteers will accompany the children during class. Space is limited; registration will close when capacity is reached. Please register online in advance.
